What a weekend, Everton demolished LFC, Young Lions won [watch out Glenavon] and Neston Ramblers came up with a match on a par with these two fine efforts.

With Pepe Reina providing the comedy for the weekend, there was a school of thought, that the impending Neston Ramblers’ Autumn Tour, would detract from the quality of the game, with the protagonists holding back/laughed out – not so.

A full blooded encounter, evenly balanced until ‘til the end, with scores never being more than a margin of ‘one up’ – no own goals, no comedy defending and even no Pirouettes; things were being taken seriously.

Outstanding feature – John Davies playing like Tomaszewski – nothing was getting past the big man on Sunday.
